Relay vs ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is a comprehensive platform for sophisticated service operations. Relay takes a more compact approach to the core service operation, from intake and scheduling through field work, maintenance, and billing.

A different tradeoff

Scheduling

ServiceTitan has sophisticated capacity and dispatch tools. Adaptive Capacity uses shifts, skills, zones, job duration, and existing commitments to shape availability. Dispatch Pro also weighs technician fit, location, drive time, performance, and predicted job value when assigning work.

Relay evaluates job requirements, eligible technicians, surrounding appointments, incremental travel, and the arrival promise before offering a time. Office, online, and eligible maintenance bookings use the same availability engine.

Product scope

ServiceTitan reaches further into commercial and enterprise workflows, with deep service agreements, reporting, payroll and commissions, purchasing, marketing products, and a broad ecosystem.

Relay covers a smaller product surface around the core service operation: intake, scheduling, field work, equipment, maintenance, inventory, billing, and payment. It supports residential and commercial-style service workflows without trying to match ServiceTitan's full commercial and enterprise breadth.

A lighter implementation

ServiceTitan is built to support complex operations, and implementing it is a substantial process. Its onboarding covers migration, configuration, integrations, accounting setup, and team training; ServiceTitan describes a typical implementation as 12–16 weeks. For a complex organization, that investment can make sense.

Relay is designed to be much lighter to adopt and run. Setup is guided, the core workflows were built to work together, and AI is built into intake and booking. The goal is to get the system running without making software administration a separate job.

Pricing works differently

$99/month. Every Relay feature included, unlimited users, a business phone system, and no contract.

ServiceTitan uses per-technician pricing and offers multiple packages and additional products. Its separately packaged Phones Pro includes deeper contact-center tools. Pricing is provided based on the business and configuration. See ServiceTitan's current plans.

Relay includes 100 AI voice minutes per month. Additional AI voice usage and payment processing are billed separately. See Relay pricing.

Which fits your operation?

ServiceTitan may fit better if

  • You run a larger or more organizationally complex residential or commercial operation and need broader administrative, reporting, or commercial workflows.
  • You rely on ServiceTitan integrations, specialized capabilities, or additional products.
  • You want extensive configurability and can invest in implementation and ongoing administration.

Relay may fit better if

  • You want sophisticated service operations without adopting a larger enterprise platform.
  • You want scheduling, maintenance, inventory, pricing, field work, billing, and intake to work together without configuring a broad suite of products.
  • You prefer one plan with unlimited users over per-technician pricing and separately packaged capabilities.

Before switching

Is Relay a replacement for everything in ServiceTitan?

No. ServiceTitan has a much broader product surface, deeper commercial and enterprise workflows, more reporting and configuration, and a larger ecosystem. If your business depends on a specific ServiceTitan product or workflow, verify that Relay covers it before switching.

How does scheduling compare?

Both systems account for skills, availability, existing work, and travel. ServiceTitan uses those inputs to manage booking capacity and optimize dispatch. Relay uses them to test where a new job can actually fit before the time is offered.

That means Relay can compare possible technicians and placements based on the work already around them and the additional driving each option creates. The same logic is used when the office books a job, a customer books online, or Relay builds the day from unscheduled work.

Does Relay support inventory and maintenance?

Yes. Relay includes flat-rate pricing, warehouse and truck inventory, serialized stock, equipment records, and recurring maintenance. Customers can also book eligible upcoming maintenance visits themselves.
